Subject: Automotive Research Center (ARC) Review Meeting on June 5-7, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to the 30th Automotive Research Center (ARC) Meeting on June 5-7, 2024 (arc.engin.umich.edu/). This year we are also co-hosting the Summit on Advancing Modeling and Simulation.

The event will take place at the Michigan Union, located on Central Campus at the University of Michigan, 530 S State St, Ann Arbor, MI.

The annual meeting of the ARC, the flagship research organization of the US Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), brings together more than 250 participants from academia, government, and industry. Preliminary agenda details can be found at: arc.engin.umich.edu/events/annual-program-review/agenda/

The three-day meeting will showcase the most recent research and technologies developed by the ARC team in 2023-2024. Keynote presentations will be accompanied by ARC case studies, two panels on addressing DoD challenges in modeling and simulation, a wide range of technical presentations, and a poster session with over 50 posters.

This year we have the distinct honor to be joined by:

COL Ryan A. Howell | Program Manager, Main Battle Tank Systems (MBTS),
Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems

COL Ryan R. Howell | Chief of Staff, Next Generation Combat Vehicle
Cross-Functional Team (NGCV CFT)

Dr. Alvaro Velasquez | Program Manager, Transfer from Imprecise and
Abstract Models to Autonomous Technologies (TIAMAT), DARPA

Dr. David Gorsich | Chief Scientist, Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC)

The ARC Awards ceremony will highlight special accomplishments of our faculty and students, including the winners of the ARC Excellence in Research Award and the ARC Student Poster Competition. We will also
celebrate the recent election to the National Academy of Engineering of Prof. Dawn Tilbury, Chair of the Department of Robotics at the University of Michigan, former ARC Deputy Director, former Director of the
GVSC-sponsored Ground Robotics Research Center, and a well-known ARC PI.

Furthermore, we will continue the tradition of One-on-One Info Session with GVSC Thrust Area Leaders, as well as new round table discussions focused on modeling and simulation for cybersecurity and communications, simulation fidelity, and test design for autonomous vehicles.

Registration is free, but required. The deadline for registration is May 15. Please navigate to //arc.engin.umich.edu/events/annual-program-review/ and click on the Registration link. Breakfast and lunch will be served on June 5, 6 and 7. The ARC 30th anniversary will be celebrated at evening receptions on June 5 and 6.

I am looking forward to interacting with you at the meeting. For more information, please contact arc-event-inquiries@umich.edu.

With best regards,
Bogdan I. Epureanu
